Return to the preliminary synthesis. This log records a bounded scan, not a systematic review or a full revalidation of every source.
September 9, 2026
Coverage: selected public developments from May 9 through September 9. The workshop account describes May views; subsequent evidence is dated separately. The belief dataset remains the July 31 privacy-reviewed release. New submission intake was not checked in this revision.
| Date | Source | What it contributes | Limit and follow-up |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 2 | PARIMA/Vow announcement | Company-reported multi-tonne duck-biomass run at 22,000 litres | No absolute $/kg or full cost accounts. Ask for yield, medium use, repeat batches, and capital/capacity costs. |
| July 3 | Hoek et al., hydrolysate review | Comparison of nutrient composition and consumption | CHO-data limitations; ask for relevant food-species uptake data and suspension tests. |
| July 10 | FSA/FSS guidance | More explicit application and production requirements | Guidance is not authorization. Ask which requirements change process choices or expected delays. |
| June 26 | PabloAMC, “Cultivating hope” | Outside cost-to-demand analysis, marked Curated when checked | Mainly older cost sources. Examine decisive assumptions and the feed-conversion denominator correction. |
| May 12 | Agronomics/SuperMeat financing announcement | Financing and licensing milestones | Distinguish cash, shares, and target funding. Check subsequent milestone completion. |
| June 9 | Rethink Priorities, AI and Cultivated Meat | Analysis of data, funding, and AI research opportunities | Evidence cutoff April 2026; later publication, not necessarily later progress. |
| June 8 | Oey et al., media recycling | Journal publication of work with a February preprint | Core result predates the workshop; no net commercial cost estimate. |
The scan found relevant evidence to investigate but did not locate an independently auditable new full-production cost estimate establishing commodity-meat price parity. This describes the scan’s result, not proof that no such evidence exists.
Older work receiving newer coverage
- Cellulose-scaffold work was first published May 6, before the workshop, despite June coverage.
- September vascularized-muscle publication builds on a March 2024 preprint. A version comparison remains to be done.
- Meatly’s financing announcement was May 7. Funding and planned capacity should not be relabelled as later observed production.
- The SuperMeat announcement repeats a November 2024 cost estimate. Humbird, Pasitka, and GFI’s 2025 amino-acid report remain earlier baselines.
Review process
Further checks are scheduled every two weeks to prepare local revisions for review. Check source and event dates, what changed, the affected claim or question, limitations, and a useful follow-up. Use primary evidence where available; keep company claims, independent measurements, and commentary distinguishable. Preserve older views and dated changes.
New belief responses require privacy review before inclusion. A completed public-source scan must not advance the belief-data cutoff. When no material evidence changes, record the check without implying that every existing claim was revalidated.
